Some days you need to move, and other days you need to give yourself permission to do a little less. Our Long Slow Deep class at Total Being Yoga is an opportunity to spend more time in each posture, explore deeper stretches, and release some of the tension we tend to carry throughout the week.
This is a slower, mostly floor-based practice where we settle into each shape, work with the breath, and allow the body time to respond without forcing anything.
Long Slow Deep combines elements of Yin Yoga and longer-held stretches to encourage flexibility, joint mobility, and relaxation.
Most of our time is spent seated or reclined, with attention to the hips, lower back, and other areas where tension commonly builds. We'll hold postures for several breaths, explore gentle counter-movements, and use props when helpful.
Rather than moving quickly from one pose to the next, we give the body time to settle into each stretch.
This class is for anyone who enjoys a slower practice or feels like their body could use some extra attention.
It's a great complement to more active yoga classes, strength training, running, or simply a busy week. No previous yoga experience is necessary, although students should be comfortable practicing on the floor for much of the class.
Join us Sundays at 11:00 AM, in person at our Mint Hill studio or virtually from home. This class often fills, so register ahead.
Long Slow Deep is taught by Haley on Sundays from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
